MokeiOtaku Community Showcase

Monthly Community Choice Award

Show Your Builds. Share Your Creativity. Let the Community Decide.

Build It. Share It. Inspire Others.

1. About the Community Showcase

Every model built with passion deserves to be seen.

At MokeiOtaku, we want to create a space where model builders can showcase their work, share creative ideas, exchange techniques, and inspire fellow hobbyists.

We believe model building is about more than putting pieces together. It's about the time, patience, craftsmanship, and creativity that go into every build.

That's why we're launching the MokeiOtaku Community Showcase.

Every month, we invite model enthusiasts to submit their completed builds. Qualifying entries will be featured on our website, where registered community members can vote for their favourite.

The build receiving the most valid votes will win a model-building nipper, courtesy of MokeiOtaku.

We want our community to be more than an audience. We want everyone to have a voice in celebrating the creativity of fellow builders.

2. Event Schedule

Monthly Event Cycle

The MokeiOtaku Community Showcase is designed as an ongoing monthly community event.

Each edition follows the same schedule:

  • Submission Period: From the 1st of each month to the 1st of the following month.

  • Submission Review: Entries are reviewed during and shortly after the submission period.

  • Public Showcase & Voting: From the 2nd of each month to the 1st of the following month.

  • Winner Announcement: After voting closes and all valid votes have been verified.

  • Monthly Prize: One model-building nipper awarded to the creator of the build receiving the most valid votes.

Submissions for the next edition may run alongside voting for the previous edition.

4. Eligible Builds and Submission Standards

We welcome a wide variety of physical model kits and custom creations, including mecha, anime, science fiction, military models, vehicles, figures, dioramas, and other model-building subjects.

The Community Showcase is intended to highlight builds that demonstrate creativity, craftsmanship, attention to detail, or a unique personal touch.

What We're Looking For

Custom Painting

Unique colour schemes, detailed paintwork, weathering effects, and creative surface finishes.

Custom Builds

Modified structures, kitbashing, original designs, and personalized modifications.

Detailed Builds

Custom panel lines, seam removal, added details, metal parts, and other advanced finishing techniques.

Diorama & Display

Creative bases, dioramas, lighting effects, and thoughtfully designed displays.

Creative Presentation

Unique poses, photography, composition, or other creative approaches that make a build stand out.

About Straight Builds

We respect every builder, regardless of experience or preferred building style.

Straight builds, including kits assembled directly from the instructions without additional modifications, are not automatically excluded.

However, the Community Showcase is intended to highlight creativity, craftsmanship, and individual expression.

Basic straight builds without additional detailing, customization, or distinctive presentation may be less likely to qualify.

Painting is not required. A well-executed build with creative posing, detailed finishing, or outstanding presentation is always welcome.

A model's price, brand, or place of purchase will not affect its eligibility.

5. Submission Requirements

Build Photos

Please provide:

  • 3–6 clear photos of your completed build.

  • Photos showing the overall build, different angles, and close-up details.

  • Good lighting and a clean background whenever possible.

  • Images that accurately represent the submitted build.

  • Photos you own or have permission to use.

Professional photography is not required. Smartphone photos are perfectly welcome.

Community Showcase Submission — [Edition Number]

Please attach your build photos and include the required information in your email.

We recommend sending your submission from the email address associated with your registered MokeiOtaku account to help us verify your participation.

Submissions must be received within the official submission period for the relevant edition.

6. Submission Review

All submissions will be reviewed by MokeiOtaku according to the published event requirements.

The review will consider:

  • Whether the participant meets the eligibility requirements.

  • Whether the build was completed by the person submitting it.

  • Whether the entry meets the showcase standards.

  • Whether the photos are suitable for public display.

  • Whether the required information has been provided.

  • Whether the submission contains copyrighted, inappropriate, or otherwise prohibited material.

Approved entries will proceed to the public showcase and community voting stage.

The purpose of this review is to maintain the quality and fairness of the event, not to determine the winner in advance.

The winning build will be determined by valid community votes.

MokeiOtaku reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet the published requirements.

7. Community Voting

Your Community. Your Vote.

All approved entries will be published on the MokeiOtaku website at the beginning of the designated voting period.

Registered members can browse the featured builds and vote for their favourite.

Voting Rules

  • Voting is open to eligible registered MokeiOtaku members only.

  • Voting is completely free. No purchase is necessary.

  • Each eligible person may vote once per edition.

  • Each vote may support only one build.

  • Votes cannot be changed after submission.

  • Voting through multiple accounts is prohibited.

  • Automated voting, bots, and other forms of vote manipulation are prohibited.

  • Live vote counts and rankings will not be publicly displayed during the voting period.

Participants are welcome to share their build pages and invite others to join the community and vote.

However, buying votes, creating fake accounts, or using other unfair methods to influence the results is strictly prohibited.

MokeiOtaku reserves the right to investigate suspicious voting activity and remove invalid votes in accordance with the event rules.

8. Monthly Community Choice Award

Each edition will feature one Monthly Community Choice Award.

The creator of the build receiving the highest number of valid votes will receive:

One model-building nipper, provided by MokeiOtaku.

  • One winner will be selected per edition.

  • One model-building nipper will be awarded per edition.

  • No purchase is necessary to qualify.

  • The prize cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • The specific brand, model, and approximate retail value of the prize will be announced in the official rules for each edition.

  • Prize delivery eligibility and conditions will be specified in the official event terms.

In the Event of a Tie

If two or more builds receive the same highest number of valid votes, an additional voting round will be held between the tied entries.

The dates and procedures for the tie-breaking vote will be announced in advance.

The winner will be announced after the results have been verified.

The selected winner must satisfy all applicable eligibility and legal requirements and complete any necessary prize-claim procedures before receiving the prize.

9. Showcasing and Sharing Builds

All approved entries will be featured in the Community Showcase, not just the winning build.

Featured content may appear on:

  • The official MokeiOtaku website and Blog.

  • MokeiOtaku's official Facebook page.

  • MokeiOtaku's official Instagram account.

Selected builds may receive additional features or introductions on our social media channels.

All approved entries will follow the same voting rules, regardless of whether they receive additional social media exposure.

Creators will be credited using their preferred display names and social media accounts, where provided.

After voting ends, featured builds may remain available in the Community Showcase archive for others to enjoy.

10. Copyright and Content Permission

Creators retain ownership of their original work and any associated rights to their submitted photographs.

By submitting an entry, participants confirm that they own or have obtained the necessary rights and permissions for all submitted content.

Participants grant MokeiOtaku a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, share, and promote their submitted content in connection with the Community Showcase.

This permission covers the official MokeiOtaku website, Blog, and social media channels.

MokeiOtaku may make reasonable adjustments to image cropping, formatting, translations, and written descriptions for presentation purposes.

Submitted content will not be sold to third parties or used for unrelated commercial campaigns without additional permission.

Creators may contact MokeiOtaku to request the removal of their submitted content.

We will process reasonable removal requests for content on platforms under our control.

Removing an entry during an active edition may result in withdrawal from voting or loss of prize eligibility.

11. Fair Play and Community Guidelines

We want the Community Showcase to remain a welcoming, fair, and respectful place for all model enthusiasts.

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Submitting someone else's work or photographs without permission.

  • Providing false information or impersonating another creator.

  • Using multiple accounts to cast additional votes.

  • Using bots or automated systems to manipulate voting.

  • Purchasing votes or offering improper incentives in exchange for votes.

  • Harassing, insulting, or attacking other participants.

  • Submitting illegal, infringing, or inappropriate content.

MokeiOtaku may disqualify entries, remove invalid votes, or revoke prize eligibility where there is verifiable evidence of rule violations.

All event rules will be applied fairly and consistently.

12. Looking Ahead

The MokeiOtaku Community Showcase is intended to become an ongoing monthly tradition.

Through regular submissions, public showcases, and community voting, we hope to build a growing collection of inspiring model builds created by hobbyists from our community.

As the community grows, we may introduce special themes, additional build categories, and new ways for members to share their work.

Our goal will always remain the same:

Celebrate creativity. Recognize craftsmanship. Bring model builders together.

A Message to Our Fellow Builders

MokeiOtaku is still a small and growing hobby shop.

But we want to be more than just a place to buy model kits.

We want to create a space where builders can share their work, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and find inspiration.

You don't need the most expensive kit.

You don't need to be a professional builder.

If you've created something you're proud of, we'd love to see it.

Show us your creativity.

Share your hard work.

Inspire the next builder.

Build It. Share It. Inspire Others.

MokeiOtaku Team
